Ishmael Spear-it = energy, enthusiasm, excitement, participation, costumes, props and SNACKS! All of which contributed to this successful event. FIVE Grades… FOUR (plus) hours… THREE cohorts… TWO amazing coordinators… ONE wiped out principal!! What a day!!! Students were well prepared for the questions, their cheers rumbled the ears, and costumes were one of a kind. BIG thank you to all participants, and extra special thanks to Mrs Kelly and Mrs Monaghan for organizing another incredible event… COVID style!

Excitement for the conclusion of Ishmael Spear-It is mounting. Prizes, prizes and
more prizes. Students have chosen their prizes and then rechosen their prizes, in
anticipation of the BIG winners.
Aligning with Emergency Awareness week SJ scheduled a Fire drill early in the week
and a Lockdown drill midweek to ensure safety protocols are followed. Staff and Students
displayed the knowledge and procedure, if either drill had to actually be performed.
Vernon Fire Rescue Services made a surprise visit to complete the annual inspection
of our school this week. VFRS provided both St James school and kitchen with a clean
inspection report. A big thank you to Mr. Pfanschmidt and JP for their diligence.

Chef’s in training. Chef JP had a full kitchen today, with his apprentices. Kindergartners were busy creating their personal size pizza.
Bird watching, a nature scavenger hunt, a field trip to Kingfisher Interpretive Center, a field trip to Gardom Lake, and pizza making! These were some of the extracurricular activities our students experienced this week.
The weeks ahead appear to be just as action packed. We look forward to the students and staff sharing their experiences.
ay’s Spirit day.
